    66 saved from crusher.

While searching for a ram's horn exhaust manifold, I took a tour of the wrecking yard and spotted a 1966 Chevy van next to the crusher. The body is toast. (Rust.) It might have some good handles and lock mechanisims but the main thing is that the power train is still intact. The engine case is in good condition and the straight 6 looks like it has bee rebuilt. The transmission is still attached and I am wondering if it wouldn't just start right up with a fresh battery.
Now, I was thinking of pulling the transmission for my personal uses but I hate to see the engine go to waste. Anyone interested? The van is at Aberdeen Auto Wrecking in South Aberdeen, Washington state.
I had them set the van off to the side and not run it through the crusher. I don't know how long they will save it.
    Later...Mario
