found a 68 no door for sale [Archive] - Vintage Chevy Van Club

i was at a boneyard in union mo. to check out a 65 for mirrors, i see that alot of members look for those smaller mirrors, no luck. this boneyard is extra special because this guy basically only handles 50's 60's and 70's parts, it is one of my favorite places to look at old cars. let me get to the point. the owner asked me what years am i looking for, i told him 64 - 70, he told me that he has another van over on the other side of his property, i walked over and there it was, a 68 no door ( no door means that it has no side doors, right?) it is rough in the usual spots, corners, around gas tank, sections of the rockers, the floor boards in the front of the vehicle and the roof has surface rust. it looks like it has the original engine in it, a six, but i am not sure which size. overall i believe it would be a decent resto vehicle. i made him aware of the club and i told him that he may be able to sell it to one of the members. he said it was cool to put his phone # on the site, but the catch is that he is hard to catch at times because he works by himself and he is either in the shop or out on a tow. his # is 636-583-5906 his name is bill, his place is called huxels auto repair. his address is 4017 hwy A Union Mo 63084 he would like to sell the vehicle complete, not part it out, and he stated that it was in running condition when it came in. i will try to get pics of it to put on the site.

someone grab this one up to keep it on the road and out of the boneyard.

i think that he is asking about $500 for it, it is in a tight spot in his salvage yard and it would be hard to move to get it on a trailer, i believe that he would have no problem pulling it out, i would buy it, but i got my 69 that keeps me busy, it would be a pretty cool project, give him a call, he is pretty cool guy to talk to and i will try to get pics for the site.
