is a stock 194 torquey enough to tug a carhauler with car (just the hauler wouldn't be of much use http://www.vcvc.org/ubb/wink.gif ) and a full load in the back? how would the stock 3spd hold up to such loads?

anyone here do much hauling with their vans (unmodified engine wise that is)?

I'm currently looking for a fun/work van, one of the duties of which will be to tug a trailer and car/motorcycles, and I want to know if I should discount the 194s or not in my search.

From my perspective my "1965" flat glass with the stock 230 c.i.(High Torque)three on the tree pulls the hills as well as my 350 c.i. V-8 auto 3-speed in my "1969" (108) window van! Have driven the Flat Glass from Ohio to Florida to California and back fully loaded with band equipment with no downshift necessary on 98% of the hills! Am also interested in others thoughts on the 194's. Have always been impressed with my 230 though! Lets hear from some of the 194 owners. Glad you don't have the 153 c.i.4 cylinder? Thanks!
