Hello everyone. Name's Chris, I'm new.
I've got a '69 shorty that I'm absolutely in love with. Was told she was "done up" sometime in the 70's in California. The previous owner (I am supposedly the 3rd) said he bought her out there from the orignal owner and brought her back with him.
Shortly after I got her the engine went, so I've just got another put in. I'm still trying to work out the bugs (tonights bug? you need gas, stupid!). Shouldn't be long though before she's back at it with more pep than I've seen her with!
Not that it matters but I am curious how many young van owners are out there? I'm about 19.
Here are some poor pictures. Hopefully I can get some better looking pics after I get her outta the garage!

Wow thanks for the great response, you guys are too cool.
I'm still working on getting her out of the garage. Today I went to take her for gas and lost a LOT of oil, was smoking pretty bad. Now that everything's all back together (better valve cover gaskets/flattening valve covers totally), it seems like I may have hurt something inside. I hope something's just out of whack because of how damn oily everything got. Should know tomorrow. I would really hate to start over from this point.
I'll get some more pics of the dashboard setup. It had the center panel cut out some time ago, and the diamond plate installed, so I didn't have much of an option. The stereo/guagers were in a lower console, but it was falling apart, so i stuffed it all into the diamondplate and put it back up.
It's got a 350/turbo 400.
More tomorrow (hopefully pics, too)

Excellent point Wookee! The participation by the VCVC (puppy truckers) at this years Nats was awesome. We coordinated and providing the band equipment for the VCVC band jam. Vans and bands have always gone together well and we enjoyed both at this years Nats! Thanks. VP
