I have become one of the guys I hate when it comes to old rigs. I have had my 66 "Midnight Rambler" for the better part of 10 years and done very little with it. So, I would like to trade it, or sell it for a solid, running, 65-69 Chevy Panel van, short wheelbase, no windows on the sides. I promised ShaknBake they would get forst shot at buying this van because they have history with it. I have let them know, but haven't heard back from them as of yet. I don't have the time or money to do this once beautiful historic van the justice it deserves.

Every time I try to postpics on the new site, it comes back and says the pic is too big. I don't know how to make them smaller, and they work in every other format I've downloaded them to. There used to be a bunch of photos of the van in the gallery on the old site, not sure what happened to all those pics. I'll keep trying.

I'm currantly traveliing, and won't be able to make a deal on Bob Moore's old van until I get back around the middle of June. If someone else would like to get this van, then I'm all for it. Hope it goes to a good home. If it's still around in June, I'll get back in touch with you. Your price isn't too far off of what Larry and I were talking about. Here's a pictures of the back of Bob's van when we were on a run to the Monteray Bay. Here's another little story regarding Bob's van. At the last original King City, I was a judge for the show. The choice for Best of Show came down to the Midnight Express (what we originally called it) and the Double Eagle (in the Vanner mag that just came out). All the judges got together and went over everything. It came down to the fact that Bob had just redone everything on his van for King City whereas the Double Eagle hadn't done anything to his for a couple of years. Everyone liked Bob's dedication to the sport. Anyway, here's the picture...Bob's is the black early and mine is the one in primer...

Gary,
I'm in no hurry to sell this baby. So when you get back, email, call, text, or reply on here and we'll see if we can make this happen. Turns out I don't have the V8 anymore, the place I had it stored sold it with all thier scrap metal!!

Rich,
That thing is cool. I would consider possibly trading you the wiki-van for it.... *maybe*
I need alot more details on your van and what it needs. Obviously, it would be going to a good home of a true hardcore vanner and if I swapped you the wiki-van, you'd be getting a historical van also. The wiki currently has a coolant leak/possible cylinder head issue, but I will be getting that sorted out as soon as I have a day or two off work... I'm really effing busy right now!
You can email me pics directly at kookykrispy@yahoo.com
if it is already going to shknbak, that is fine, I understand he's got first dibs on it so no prob. Gary is cool as hell, and as long as it stays in the northwest I think we'll both be stoked.

Kooky, and Photou,
Yes, that is the van! BUT! It doesn't look like that right now. It still has the vinyl top, chrome grill and hinges, and tricked out interiour. But the outside is in primer, and it has the front and rear axles. The parts I have for it but not put on yet are the gas tank, and transmission (th350). I used to have a rebuildable 350, but that disapeared from the place I was storing it. I don't have a drive line or wheels for it, and the nice chrome trime stuff, bumpers, headlight and taillight rings, and mirrors where destroyed in a fire. I still have the headers and chrome sidepipes, but they are coming apart on the bottom.
If some one can help walk me through the new process for posting pictures on here, I'll try to let you guys see what it looks like today. I've tried posting pictures on here, but it always comes back and says it's too big.
Kooky, some pictures of the wiki-van?

Kooky,
I just got done pulling the tarp off the Midnight Rambler. I had to take the water hose to her to knock off the dust and dirt. Then I had to fight the wasps to get the pictures. They really like those chrome hinges! So I just sent you an email with All (31) pictures! Hope it opens okay.

Joe,
Just sent it again. Double checked the address, so hopefully it'll get through. It may be too big, or that your with yahoo and I'm MSN. I sent the photos through MSN photo, and it may not send them to Yahoo accounts. If you still don't see anything by tomorrow evening, let me know and I'll try another format.

I've known all along how special this van is, and how lucky I am to have it. I also know that if I sell it I'll be sick to my stomach for letting it go. I've got 7 more years to work before I retire, and this was going to be my project. But I don't want to sit here and watch it deteriorate until I have time when I retire. I just got off the phone with 65 scooby who has convinced me that I'm the craziest man on earth if I sell her. He loves vans just as much as we do, and he is the first one to try and convince me to hang on to her. Dang this is hard! Maybe it's time to get it into a shop, and start having some little things done to work towards my ultimate goal. Good grief!

Thanks Kustomizer,
Now all i need is a shop, more $, and more time!! Seems nothings changed. Way too many projects needing attention around here! Tattoo designs, web site buisness development, truck repair, and a van rebuild....just to name a few!

I know this thread is over a year old, but was wondering if you ever sold the van or decided to keep it. Brad
