Hopefully , my 67 will be painted and I'll run down from Buena Park. It's still in Barstow and has been since 11-05 at Rod's body shop. They take life very easy up there, but they do nice work!

I will have to warn them that the vans are comin' ... we should have at least 10 vans the way it is going and quite possibly 20. You never know who is going to show up there. Andrewchevelle and I were talking to Chip Foose a few weeks back and he told us he had been there 2 weeks before in the Hemisfear.

I went down there this past Saturday and was happy to see two other early vans there. It was a good time, vehicles of all types from every manufacturer, including bikes.
It's a great bunch of people just having a good time in a relaxing atmosphere in a parking lot FULL of vintage cars, classics, rods, customs, trucks, bikes, vans(ours), and even an amphibious VW!
I'll be there on the 17th and it looks like we'll have quite a few other earlies showing up as well! It looks like if we want to park together we may have to get there at or before 5:30am. I had a tough time finding parking at 7:00am, had to wait for someone to leave. Like JD said, "these guys (and gals) get there early!"
Coffee, donuts, Earlies, and 300 other vintage irons, what else do you want?

You guys are the best ! I wasn't sure if this would happen or not but the posts here got me going ! The list of vans is adding up ... Overhaulin' mid Chevy, Vanishing Breed early Ford (he stood us up), Battlestar mid Dodge, Pink Floyd flatglass Chevy (good possibility) ... and hopefully a few more early Chevies !

There surely are other vans out there. What about Raggedy Vandy? Think she's in LA somewhere. Camel? Where oh where are the So.Ca. van council members? Gotta try & get Jay there too.
Doug, where are you staying out here? Brad

When I was talking to Tom he said that we should be there by 5:30 if we want the vans side by side ... If someone can't make it by that time you can always park somewhere else in the lot. They do not let you save spots.

We will be staying nearby, have not made final arrangements as yet.

5:30-6 would be the right time...We should try to park in the 1st row that faces Adams Avenue ( Vanographer + I checked it out and parked there a couple weeks ago ) Most of the guys park as close to the Donut shop as possable and the parking lot fills up and out from there..If we are all there at 5:30-6 AM we can most likely all park in a row..The Donut shop is on the corner of Magnilia and Adams..See y there........JD

What a great turnout by the Early Chevy guys and gals ! We had 6 early Chevs there, 5 2nd generation and a flatglass. I can't post any pictures yet due to my prehistoric laptop but I am sure Vanographer and Brad will have some up soon.
Never had 3 hours go by so fast, sorry to anyone I didn't get a good chance to talk to.
We had a few other later model vans like the Overhaulin van, Battlestar even Chopper Dave showed up with his early Econo, Rollie I have a nice present for you.

Yes, today was a great day. Arrived on sceen at 4:30 am. Were only 2 vans & a couple other rods there that early. At around 5 or so, it was like someone opened the gate. Cars, rods, bikes, vans, everything started rolling in. Parking lot quickly filled up.
Was awesome getting to meet & talk to new vanners from this site & others.
Here is the link to my pics. Also included some pics from the Beachcruisers event that was down on the beach today.
Thanks everyone that drove out. Doug, was a pleasure hanging out with you for a few hours today.Brad http://public.fotki.com/Lordmodelbuilder/vanning/donut-derelict-cruise/

Got my pictures together ... the only problem I forgot to take pics of the early Chevies parked side by side, dohhhh. I did talk to these guys for a long time and only started taking pictures afterwards, whatta goof.
But the others took a good bunch and I will be stealing the best to make a special page for this event I was very proud to be a small part of.
Once again I would like to thank Vanographer for his part in getting the early Chevies there.
I made a mistake in my original post there 2 flatglass vans there.
