Anyone figure out a good way to put an interior handle on the main cargo door of a chevy G10? Secondary door has them, but I have not seen one on the primary doors. Seems a safety hazard not to be able to escape from the interior

Great advice. I found one yesterday at a junk yard. Took your advice and grabbed some extra clips as well, thanks. That junk yard has two second gen G vans, but there isn't much left on them, pretty stripped out and rusted to heck.
I have an endoscope camera that has really come in handy figuring out how things are assembled and how to get them apart. Was able to look inside the door at the clips and figure out how to separate things. The thing even has several heads/accessories that fit on the end of the camera, one of which is a magnet, another is a hook and also a 90 degree mirror. Well worth the $36!1966 G10 No Door with 250, 3 on the tree

Cargo Door Rod Clips
KK is correct. The clips that hold the upper and lower door rods to the latch mechanism are in short supply. As far as I know, there is no substitute and no reproductions. Many times, they break off when removed or fall into the bottom of the doors. If anyone has the opportunity to retain or obtain these clips, please do so. It will benefit us all.
