Ended up with a 20 footer today, looks god from 20 feet, but I guess that is okay. Had some cheap white acrylic enamel and decided to paint the van today. Still have 2 or small dings that I overlooked, other than that the body is near perfect. Didn't get the gloss that I thought I would, lots of orange peel and some overspray and 2 runs. Guess I ain't no painter. But it will do for now until I can find someone to reshoot it.

Looks good Greg! I know how you feel about the perfection part, but hell, it sure beats no paint at all!

Like with my 87 Chevy, at least it's all one color now!

Nothing a good wet sanding and polish won't cure, that is if there is enough depth to the paint.Looking good.I like the gas door...AC... http://www.vcvc.org/ubb/biggrin.gif http://www.vcvc.org/ubb/biggrin.gif http://www.vcvc.org/ubb/biggrin.gif

Greg, how would you have felt if you paid some one and it would not have turned out any better?
The good part of it is it is all one color. As long as you bought the paint from a source that can supply you with more.Fixing the over looked dents/orange peel should not be a problem.
White is one of my favorite colors.I have owned two white vans so far.Shiney chrome wheels look good on them too........Wookee

Thanks guys. Joe my favorite color is also white. The 71 Nova in the carport will be white too. My last 6 vehicles eneded up white.
Guess I call call this the base coat. What do you guys think about a clear coat over the white.
Have a set of Keystone chrome five wheels in the backroom waiting for tires to arrive.

Greg, get the white buffed out and right and you might find out that you dont need to clear it.On darker metalics clear will give the color more depth. If you are planning to do some graphics, stripes(painted) or airbrush work. They can be applied now and you can bury them in clear........Wookee

THE LICENSE AREA AND GAS FLAP ARE TWO OF THE MANY THINGS I WAS GOING TO TRY ON MY 69. DID YOU GET THE INSPIRATION FOR LICENSE FROM "TRUCKS"? I LIKE THE SANS BACKUP LIGHTS TOO. FRENCHED TAILLIGHTS OR JUST BUFFED? I WOULD ALSO LIKE TO GET RID OF THE OUTSIDE DOOR HINGES. RIGHT NOW I'M PUTTING IT AWAY FOR THE DRY SEASON TO WORK ON. FIRST, I JUST DROPPED A CYLINDER LAST WEEK DUE TO A BURNED VALVE(I THINK) ON A 30,000 REBUILT 283CID. MORE MONEY TO SPEND ON SOMETHING THAT SHOULD NOT HAVE TO BE DONE.

Wheeler,

All you have to do is delete the phrase, "This message edited by wheeler" at the bottom of the reply window before you resubmit your edited message. That way the phrase appears only one time. Heck, sometimes I edit my messages many times, but nobody will ever know that I did it more than once. http://www.vcvc.org/ubb/smile.gif

By the way... You might think about turning your caps lock off when you type. It's universally considered bad form and actually means that you are shouting. http://www.vcvc.org/ubb/biggrin.gif http://www.vcvc.org/ubb/biggrin.gif http://www.vcvc.org/ubb/biggrin.gif

Wheeler, I had seen a Trucks Mag in 20 years, just didn't like the looks of the plates just hanging there on the back. Mine is a 64 and didn't have any backup lights. The taillights are Frenched and smoothed.
