View Full Version : One Hell of a Ride ----- Finally!!!!!!

The garage is finally finished, 24x30. This has been an ordeal from Hell. Had to fire the first contractor for not showing up and drgging his feet, not to mention that he basicly ran off oweing me $3800.00. But I got a second contractor to finish up the job. Anyway, this all started on November 12th and finished up last night. I still need to build an approach ramp and a sidewalk from the patio to the garage, but that can wait, I have a van to finish first.

Nice Greg, looks like you have plenty of room for company... say around October... Cruisin' the Coast! lol.

One of these days I will not have to do any work in the gravel.

Later,
Rip

there is nothing like having your own space to work out of the rain, cold, wind, prying eyes of neighbors etc. i'll bet you are excited as hell to get settled into you own place. looks like it might be high enough to install a lift down the road. a sincere congratulations from the great white north, john

Thanks guys, I am excited. Thanks Wildbill for the info on yours. Looks familiar, huh Bill. A lift could happen. I have a gated lockup area that is 24x24 behind the garage. I am on a corner lot, so I can drive up to the fenced in area. Now I just need to figure out how to get the van up the incline --- no brakes, no engine yet. Thanks again everyone, it's been a long time coming. My first real garage.

Greg, that garage looks great! I can picture it filled with shop tools and vans. I can already smell the gasoline and Fast Orange (a combination of the two would make a great cologne).

I'm surprised noone's suggested THE most important accessory for the new shop. Yes a TV/dish is nice, and of course the fridge is essential...
But the biggy, in my opinion, is a lock on the door and a bed - for those days when you're not seeing eye-to-eye with the family.
There's nothing like going from the project of the evening, to the sack.
IMO!

Congratulations! That is going to make working on van projects so much more enjoyable. and to get that baby in there, you could always laso some energetic neighborhood kids to the front bumper, and put some candy in the garage. http://www.vcvc.org/ubb/smile.gif

Had 80 pounds of crawfish, 20 lbs. of shrimp and 2 gallons of oysters cooked outside the garage today. Did I forget to invite you? Sorry, must have slipped my mind. Pinch the tails, suck the heads. Every last one was eaten. Everyone was loved the barn and wanted to know if they could store a few things in it. No way Jose'.

BTW: nice one Carl.

That's what I thought, but several posts were throwing out ways around the better half.

Again, I love the shop!

April 28, is my lucky day. The cats will no longer have to keep an eye on me....my new wife will. She's a keeper and loves 'Savannah'. She even said we should get a garage like yours....wonder if theres a hidden message there?
