View Full Version : got my parts van home

02-02-2007, 04:53 AM
i got my parts van home this week. some body panels are not as good as i had hoped, but it had some good things that i didn't know it had. i knew the motor was gone, and assumed the trany was to, but it's sitting in the back under all the extra junk the guy was so kind to leave in it. once i get the junk cleaned out, who knows what other goddies i'll find. it has a front sway bar, which i'll be keeping, so when i do get time to work on the next batch of disc brake brackets, i have a 2nd gen axle to do mock ups on. it also has a pretty nice crome front bumper, which i'll be selling and a fan shrould that will also be sold. the bumper is pretty straight and the crome still looks good till you get real close, then you can see tiny lines in the crome. i'm going to hang onto the motor box and all body panels, but the doors will be sold if anybody wants them and so will the auto trany and steering column. all i can tell you about the trany is it didn't slip, according to the guy i got it from. he pulled the motor and stuck it in a nova some time ago.

Hey Wildbill,

I'm interested in the bumper and fan shroud (if it's for the V8).

Hi, I need the steering rod that goes from Drivers side to the Pass side, about 3 feet long, threaded on both sides. I'm also interested in the Sportvan 108 deluxe emblems. Could you cut out that grill section with a saw-zall? Mine has alot of bent fins which don't seem to want to bend back, and stay straight. Please EM me at Impalakeith65@aol.com Thanks....Keith in AZ

1968 "108", and a 1968 Shortie, both no windows, both I6.

I would also be interested in 2 popout windows as well. Also could use some of the plastic chrome pieces that were used to keep the roof panels in place. I can send pics if you need them.

I am all over the bumper(s). If they are spoken for, I need the front bumper end brackets. How about the rubber master cylinder cover? Shift indicator?

On the back passenger door, there looks to be a factory (???) interior panel. I wouldlove to get that and a right side panel as well.Would make a great pattern!

please e-mail me with the parts that you are interested in.it will make it easier for me to keep track of who wants what. i guess the big thing here will be shipping on large or heavy objects. smiley, i've already sent you a reply. i have not had time to clean out the junk yet, and i can't get the side cargo doors open, so i'm assuming the pop out windows work. i'll get back to everyone as soon as i can.
ps: the grill does have some issues, but i do have the means to cut it out.

wow, your parts van is 10 times nicer than the pile I'm rebuilding... looks like a decent find.

please put "van parts" in the subject line of e-mails, or else i don't open them, if i don't know who is sending them. i hate to cut this van up, but if i had not got her, she was going to the crusher. pieces of her will live on in our vans.

Sweet WB, where did you find it?

up tha hollar. as we say around here. i looked at it about a year ago, but he wanted $400.00 for it. that was more than i wanted to give for a parts van. so i looked around for a while, didn't have any luck and went back a couple weeks ago to see what's the least he would take for it. his dad was after him to get rid of the van and 3 or 4 other cars, so i got it for $100.00 and another $50.00 to get it home. what i realy needed from it for my '66 was the dog box and the rib at the side cargo door. and some sheet metal.

If they make it available, you can always get someone's email address by clicking the tab in their post with the little face and question mark. It's right next to the date and time stamp.

i have sent e-mails out to everbody that is asking about parts from this van. i'll put the cards on the table, it's to damn cold to take anything off right now. i guess i'm just getting whimpy in my old age. as soon as alberta is out of town, i'll start pulling parts and getting you shipping cost, so i can get your parts to you. please be patient.
ps: i think i would die if i lived in canada.
