Where are the timing marks at on the 230? I had 4 people looking for them but we can't find them.

I found the riming marks under sludge on the motor. OK now, There is one hash mark, then a hash with an A next to it, then a few more hash marks, than a hash with an O, then one more hash below that. What does that mean? Which mark is the one I want? I think that is the thing that is holding the motor back from Turning over and catching. HELP!

The 0 means zero degrees, or top dead center. The A means advance. The hash marks each represent two degrees of advance. So, you turn the distributor to the spot that makes the number one cylinder (hooked to a timing light) have the correct timing. For instance, if the pointer points to the fifth hash mark in the direction of the A (as illuminated with the timing lite), that would mean number one cylinder is firing ten degrees before top center (BTC). --- TV

Set your timing to 4 degrees advance. the second mark after the 0 but before the A
