    Wanted: Doghouse pics

I'd to see different doghouses that have those whacky opening side panels to access the sides of your V engines. I'm just looking for some inspiration.

Here are some pics of my "rusty65" and the dog house I made. I used 1/8" alum. checker plate complete with cutouts in each side for plug access. I've just started a few months back in getting her back on the road it needs alot of work. This web page is my wife's stained glass work but she's added
the pictures under Rusty65. She loves the van too.

Well I dug my way out to the barn to take a picture. When I looked in the van, I don't remember it looking this bad, but it was done back in 1972. The cover was beat out of a hunk of aluminum at one time there was some duct tape on it. I had this van running last fall,it blew the left side header muffler apart and scattered mice all over. http://photos.yahoo.com/bc/gotavan/l...OPLESS&.view=t

Your snow pics are beautiful. I am a photographer and I couldn't have done a better job. They look like post cards or calender pics. You should inter them in a contest, especially the tractor, the back view of the van, the bike---hell, all of them. You have a great eye.

While checking out your doghouse pix, I saw that Chevy-in-the-XK120 trick, but I also saw the XK unit sitting all by its lonesome. I was just thinking how it might be happy in a van..... could be a cover story for a magazine: "DOHC in the Doghouse"

I did make the calender, Oct. Thanks Smiley. Those Jags are some of my Dads doings, the 120 came out of a barn someone put the 2X4 283 in it before 1964. The engine on the cart is out of a XK150 you can't see in the pic. I won't be putting it in a van... I've had a few limey vehicles, the LUCAS electricals, UGH! http://photos.yahoo.com/bc/gotavan/v....dnm=Big%2bdea d%2bcats.jpg%26.src=ph

Thanks for the additional XK pix. My son (not yet 10yo) would be thrilled if we had an XK120/140/150. As for Lucas... well, the old Triumph GT6 did well with a GM alternator, courtesy of my brother and a '72 Impala donor. I'm still thinking about trying an XK six in a van (my cart gets wayyyy ahead of the horse)... any guess how to get one to fit with a stronger manual transmission (GM or other)?

I can take a picture of the muffler remains, but I don't know if I can round up the mice. We closed on the newer house the other day. I'm not in any hurry to sell the old one. It may take 6 months to unpack the barns. We got a sloppy mess up here weather wise. Greg it will be better at the new facility, I get a heated shop with a cement floor no more groveling in da dirt. I just got to put up a storage barn this time you might be able to walk thru it. Dan

Those dog house covers look just like the ones I made for the `65 about thirty tears ago! They remind me of my first V-8.
