The new mettallic brake shoes I've tried are very poor and make a lot of noise. When they get a little hot they pull badly. I've replaced them a couple times.

Does anybody have a line on foreign asbestos shoes or some other non-asbestos type that work well? The van is a daily driver.

Thanks. Philber

what shape are your drums in? i am not to fond of the metallic shoes, they seem to me to be quite damaging to drums. i believe that any parts store will have a selection of different types, i try to stay away from big chain part stores, they are in it for the buck, i prefer to patron the family owned stores to help keep them in business. they usually will make an extra effort to help the customer. hope that i could help somewhat.

I just got some brake pads from NAPA and they are working great, no noise at all! I think they are of asbestos nature. Not too expensive either.
