'68 Chevy

John Nelson owned this van for about 20 years. During that time, he rebuilt and customized most of it.

The interior boasts a custom dash, console, & motor box cover, full headliner, carpet & paneling, custom (highback) front seats & door panels, sunroof, and rear captain's seats. A balanced & blueprinted 250 6-cyl with triple carburetors & custom air filter, and an Offenhauser manifold power this van with the aid of a turbo 400 trans. A pair of hedders and dual exhaust round out the drivetrain which is cooled by a heavy duty 4-row radiator and transmission cooler. An electric fuel pump delivers the juice. Appliance striker wheels (14x8 & 14x10) convert all that 'churn' into 'burn'. The van also features a new fuse box, new battery and custom battery box, gauges, Sun tachometer, air horn, custom bumpers with quartz halogen fog lights, tinted front windshield, and curtains. The entire undercarriage was professionally spray-foamed for insulation & noise reduction. Many stock parts rebuilt or replaced, including polyurethane sway-bar bushings, KYB gas shocks, delay wipers. Lap seat belts were replaced with shoulder belts. Extra parts include HEI ignition and distributor, tilt/telescoping steering column for replacement of stock column, switch pitch torque converter, radiator, etc.
