    Cool

We vanners do know how to "Eat good"........LOL
This year it seamed like the meal went better on Friday night.
with the awards presentation on Saturday night. It just seemed to work out better time wise.
For the cooks out there who are reading this .
We have been doing a really nice dinner one night at the Nationals.
This is where we get together and put on a really great meal for every one in our camp.
Jim really put the icing on the cake last year with the roasted pig.
the Collins Clan through some great macaroni salad.
If you have a special dish you like to cook and share bring it along.....

we have lots of time to put this all together. when the time draws closer i will see what i can do with my seafood wholesaling buddies. it would definitely want to happen in a planned way so the critters didn't die. i would definitely not want to ship them, it just about doubles the cost. we'll see how it shakes out. john

joe, it depends on many variables. time of the year, the price of diesel, size, hard or soft-shell, number of lobsters purchased, shipped or picked up at the dock, etc. lets say we bought 30, 1.5 pound hard shell lobsters at the end of august and i picked them up. it would be somewhere around $8.00 per lobster. multiply that by 30 and you get $240.00. alot can happen if diesel keeps climbing and guys stop going out. supply and demand you know. suffice it to say that i can get them much cheaper than pretty much anybody. that is a very rough guess. john

    Cool

Lets keep an eye on things as we get closer to" Nationals" time.
With Md. crabs if you have a crab guy you can trust /deal with live crabs can be frozen and shipped. The key is they do have to be live when they are frozen.
They can be dropped right in the pot and steamed .With no ill effects to taste or the meat.
Of coarse you don't want them in your freezer for a year.Just long enough to get them where they have to go.

I will be ordering some steel to fix the doors. Both door bottom are going to need to be worked......
Glad i did not wait untill the week before the nationals to hang them like i did the front doors.........LOL

Hey wookee did you ever get that passenger window figured out? I remember at the nats you were having some trouble getting the window to work right when the door was closed.

Lobster sounds freaking awesome. hope this can work out. The vcvc club dinner is something I look forward to big time at the Nats!

    Cool

    actually both doors has issues.............LOL

No I have not been able to work on ether of them yet.
Ihave a sneaky feeling the problem is the door catch thingy that keep the door from over extending is not playing well with the window in some way.

Considering those doors got hung literally days before I had to leave for the Nats last year.
then has issues they wher lucky to even be on there.........LOL
Lucky for them I was too freaking tired to re hang my old ones.
(wich by the way really need a new home)
