    Master Cylinder ?'s

In my 66 sportvan is difficult to check the brake fluid because the spring clip cannot go back far enough to allow you to get the cap off. The throttle rod stops it from moving back all the way. Did the original master cylinders have a screw-on cap, or is it just that hard to check?

I seem to remember an old FORD MC that had a screw going thru the SM cap and threading into the MC body.......maybe there's a MC with the screw type cap and the correct bore/bolt pattern???

Ive had a couple here the same way. Think its the nature of the beast, but usually could move the rod enough to get the bail to flip, just not easily.

The original was a screw on cap but they can't be found any more.

Good to hear I'm not the only one who has trouble getting the brake cap off. It's just one of those unique features our vans have.
