Yeah, I've never heard of it either. Must be some noo skool term or something. It made me think of that shitty band static-x from a couple years ago... hahaha

I was just about to post that ad, Sparky. Here ya go, all the work has already been done. I just wish they hadn't done it to a Sportvan Deluxe.

As for the geomety. what I mean is your steering as in the linkage such as drag link, tierods, steering box,toe adjustment will not be compromised. not the clearance of the tires in the fenderwell. The vans have farly large fender wells. as long as you don't go to wide or low there shouldn't be tire clearance issues. The white van in the previous pic may have some tire rub on turns wile hitting bumps at the same time. the tire may come i contact with the lip on the edge of the wheel well. and I would think it would have to be a tight turn where the wheel is turned all the way in one direction. but then again if the tire wheel combination is good it might not rub. A nd you are correct about the axle flip or (spring under ) convertion
The term static drop originated in the hot rod scene when they where mocking up a vehical for that perfect stance.

    A few issues here.
First it is on 1 of only 1500 ever made --- Oh, okay.
I think I know why it is an unfinished project.
Even jacked up, how would you ever turn that thing.
Not likely to ever be rolling down the highway. A 'Brain Fart" turned into a 'Nightmare Money Pit'. My guess is that the next owner will never finish it before he also tries to pass it on to try to recoup his losses too. Talk about hitting a point of no return. And all he had to do was ask, and we could have saved him a bucket of money and a lot of sleepless nights --------- day dreaming.

bwahaha "with be worth a ton of cash when done" Are you freakin kidding ME!!! ROTFLMAO I am sorry but I couldn't stop laughing. I agree TOTALLY that a ton of work has been done (2-3 tons left to do), as we all know these are not now or ever gonna bring the "ton of cash"a 1965 GTO will bring. I look at "Chester42" and "Digz's65"(amongst others not to slight ANYONE at all just 2 vans that came to mind) vans and see the results of complete and total restorations and do not see CASH, but a respect and preservation of these old girls/and the past. is it me or is his choice of metal used in the frame rails look a little on the light side?

the reason Van go the body dropped econoline has the wierd looking wooden seats in it is because of needed head room.

I am a six footer with aa regular thickness seat base in my van right now my head it still pretty close to the roof with no head liner.
It might look cool as hell but if you can't drive it what good is it?

If I had the time and money to buy it I would . And I would paint it the factory colors. I think its cool its got bags so the ride hight would be a lot higher. Wookee I bet the frame rails are thicker than whats on a factory van.
