Sometimes, we have four of them over there. Once the '68 is back from paint, we'll do a '65-'69 lineup.

Pretty soon you'll be able to add mine to the list! I'm already thinking about getting a second one! I've enjoyed fixing this thing up so much to be a driver, that I'm going to need another project to last longer, a full restoration. The hours spent working on my van alone in the garage is incredible. At parties I must sound like a van prophet, talking about how working on a classic is good for the soul! Life is Great! Lucky to also have a wife who fully supports me on it

Wook, I agree that we have a wonderful female influence on this club to keep us all in line and very envious of Smiley. It helps that AA is very tolerant of us old dudes, has a great sense of humer and participates as one of the guys which makes her rather special. The one thing I'm not sure about, are AA and Smiley married?

    so......

I won't be driving it to the Nats. When Space Truckin was kind enough to go out to Riverside to check out my '65, he told me he thought it was a good starting place and that he thought there were some issues that would need to be addressed.

We've tried to tweak the carb numerous times....didn't work.
    The transmission is a pita.

so....I'm looking for a V-8, automatic transmission & maybe a different rear end.

find your self a mid 80's camaro with a badly rusted killed body that is still a driver.
driver, so you can drive it like you stole it to make sure it is healthy enough to survive the swap.

This will give you your engine trans and rear.

Some minor fabrication will be required to install this drive line.
It that will be worth ti in the end.

I'm not cramming a V8 in there. I will, however be swapping out the old non-syncro trans for the one I had in the '68 til a couple weeks ago; along with the clutch.

Are we married? Are we married? No, but it feels like it.

    Cool

Switching to a good synchronized 3 speed and replacing the bushings in the shift tubes.Makes a world of difference how a 1st gen shifts and drives.
I was looking for an Automatic for Early Times.Did a synchronized 3 speed swap.Drove it like that until I sold the van.

i haven't driven TWR in months. It's been dead twice during that time. Still hate the CA DMV. Extremely frustrated with this whole process...esp since I've wanted a 1st gen for so long.

    Any progress on the title?
it will be a month since i sent off all the info to DMV in CA......tomorrow....my friend meet "Arnold" at WalMart last week. If it would have been me I'd have had a lot to talk about.....such as why CA has such a shitty system in place.
.....when someone says "we" they really mean "me".

will do. Thank you for the offer. Long story short, CA won't give me a title unless pay taxes. I didn't buy it there or register it there. Former owners said I did bc they didn't want to be hit with fines.
