Larry your dash set up looks great....

Yes i find my self looking at the gauges in the "Beast" more than I really should when we are driving down the road.
I plan in installing a custom built class 3 hitch behind the tag in the bumper of Big Red...
I have a small utility trailer her I want to pull around.
I want to also invest in a new car trailer.
I have needed one for years.I also would like to be able to take both of my Vans to the nationals or any other event that is more than a days drive away from home.the wife holds a very pretty wheel.Set up correctly Iam sure she would have no problem sharing the driving on a long road trip.
Being a retired welder fabricator. I have the needed skills to set Big Red up with a Hitch.with electric brakes and a load lever bars. Along with a 12volt power source for a winch .Air bags to allow the van to run level down the road.
That last couple of sentences is about a months worth of work on my part. How ever i will save a ton of money doing all the work correctly my self...

Its a "van thing". A life style you have to live to understand!!!!

    Cool

I had a clean set of power window powe lock door painted and hung on Big Red while Jeff worked his magic on her, body
Now I have to finish running the harness for the windows locks.
This requires me to pull the dash back out.
BTDT,,when I dyed the dash black.Which has held up very well.
I cut a corner the last time I had the dash out.
There was a plastic vent tube that directed heat to the floor on the drivers passenger side of the dog house of the van.
While I was in there this time I decided to put that tube back in.
When I was reinstalling the upper tube to the defroster vents.I snapped off the connector to the drivers side factory speaker...AAARRRGGG
These speakers sounded good with my el Cheap O Pioneer head unit.
Now I need to find a replacement speaker.
I like to go into the stereo sections of the different stores and play with the stereos and speakers they have hooked up.
I can't / will not put the dash back together with out speakers in place.
A good reason to up grade the factory speakers.
I would also like to find speakers here locally.

Next stop is a quick internet search to see who has what for sale.....

    Cool

At least they can be taken apart....
This is the 2nd time around for this van.I did a heater core when I first bought it.
The P.O.had a water leak he fixed with bars leak..which killed the factory heater core
I am upgrading to all hex head sheet metal screws.
I picked up a new pair of speakers today.
    Calling for rain tomorrow.

My pictures should get better.I picked up another inexpensive digital.
    Cheaper than a new phone......

    Cool

Big Red is now in a new work spot in front of the garage.
I need to pull the drivers door to drill a hole in the A pillar to install the power window harness.
There is at least two days worth of work to get the shop organized /cleaned enough to get her inside.
This job is up higher on my "round to it list".
I have another job coming up that I need the shop space to pull it off comfortably.
