    Cool

I knew I should not have been bragging how good Big Red has been running.
I picked up a pulsation when stopping.I can also feel it a ow speeds.
I thought it was the new tires.
The guy at the tire store said it was the brakes NOT his tires.
I installed a pair of brand new drilled & slotted rotors .
So now I am going to buy yet another set of new front rotors.
First I am going to bolt my winter cragers back on the van.
If the pulsation goes away. It is the new tires &wheels.
it will take a little work to prove my point.
He played the I have been doing this for forty years card today.
I told him it did NOT shake until I bolted these new tires & wheels onto the Van.
He insists it is the brand new brakes I just installed.
Glad it is not too cold yet..
Its a "van thing". A life style you have to live to understand!!!!

I had a pulsation on my S10 after first changing to drilled and slotted rotors a couple months ago but it has gone away. It also was pulsating before I changed them but the old ones were warped. Maybe give it some time . The first thing I thought after changing them that maybe it was the tires but they only pulsates when I had to brake so I figured it had to be brakes.

Just have to remember the rotors are now made in China. I just bought calipers for my 2003 S10. Guess what, ACDelco's are made in China.

    Cool

I think I might have found the problem.
I was ready to put her "Winter wheels" on any way.
I jacker her up pulled the drums.the brake shoes where the bonded type.
The bonded friction material worked loose from the primary brake shoe metal section of the shoe.
When ever I swap out wheels. It is a habit to pull the drums and check things out.
When I bolted the brand new Cragers on her earlier this season the shoes looked fine.
    This should fix the problem.
Now I have to move the Z28.to get the Van out.
That one is still dead.My good tow strap dissipated from the back of Big Red when she went up to have her gull wing door installed.
I bought 2 , 20 foot tow straps with nice hooks on them from Harbor Freight.
Tomorrow hope fully. I can get the Z pulled to the side of the drive way & take Big Red for a test drive.

    Wish me luck...

    Cool

Chester, nothing is made here any more.
I all ways buy the better more expensive brake pads & shoes.
I don't care for brakes the squeek.
The drilled and slotted rotors from summit where made in CHINA..
The drums on the Van Now have Chins cast right into them.
Hope fully I found the cause of the problem..

    Cool

Pulled the drums again it it was a bonded bake line on the primary show that came loose, off
I have never had this happen before.Put the new brake shoes on and she stops good & smooth now.
The old girl is back to her old dependable self.
Looks like I will be down for a while now,.
This will require me to be completely off of my feet for at least 2 weeks or so..
The wife went out and bought her her first brand new car..
If things do get wintry around here Big Red can set in the drive way until things clear out...
