The Club Calendar Photo Submission Checklist

This is just a quick little post to help out anyone who's like to see their van(s) featured in a future VCVC calendar.

The basics are that I need photos that feature your van in the way you want hundreds of people to see it, every day, for a month.

The pictures need to be shot and sent in a hi-resolution version. Pics that get loaded onto websites, Facebook, etc are usually downsized to 72dpi by the hosting site to save space. Once the resolution of that image has been degraded, it cannot be brought back up to the necessary 300dpi needed for print. So, pictures downloaded from the internet and emailed to me don't usually work. I don't want your van to look fuzzy and pixelated when it is enlarged for print.

Composition is in many ways, a matter of taste. I love that the pictures we feature show us your vans, the way you see them. However, be mindful of what lurks in the background of your pics. It's the little things that can ruin a picture or worse, distract the viewer from the focus of the picture, your van. Yes, I can fix small things in Photoshop, but if I need to erase a whole Nissan Altima that's growing out from behind the van, I have to replace it with something. I can't erase it and reveal what's behind the Nissan. Michael Swann was kind enough to send me this pic, to get my goat:

I've gotta tell you. This pic is a grand slam of goodness! He even managed to get the perennial phone pole growing through the roof. His joke inspired me to put it up this thread. I can fix little things, but big stuff just won't look right.

You can always send submissions to me at bob@vcvc.org

We're done for the 2016 calendar, but I'm already looking to get started on the 2017 calendar. It'll be our 20th anniversary, so it'll be a special one.

The only thing missing in that pic is the porta potty that G-man's van seems to always attract.

How do you feel about submitting a van for a second time after it's had a big cosmetic change, like paint and or bodywork? I love that picture of mine in Colorado, but I'd hate to think that all that chipped paint on the bumpers is how it will be remembered forever.

We have had several repeats over the years. I'm not opposed, although I'm always trying to get some of the quiet guys involved.

Ok. when Carl was doing the calendar.Members submitted there pictures .The members then voted on the pictures they wanted to see in that years calendar.
the only issue was some times the selected pictures did need a good bit of work to get them "Print ready".
He also set up a page Vis a link here where we you could go and view the pictures....

When I saw that area, behind a local meat and three, I could not resist.
