1st gen getting the new 24 gallon tank

I already had the old tank out of my 66'. I've been working on this kind of slow but spent an hour working on removing the crossbrace so it can be relocated. I had to wire brush the areas where the factory spot welds are. I then started to drill through the welds slowly. Click image for larger version.

That would be a great task for me to find out this weekend.

Thanks smiley for putting the work into the new tanks! Looking forward to installing mine after I move the crossmember and make a few rust repair panels.

Little more work on the tank project today. Finally got crossmember out. GM put those in there to stay! Cleaned the cross member up and the bottom of the floor. Picture shows the measurement where to relocateClick image for larger version.

From the wide flat area. I was at Taz's a few weeks ago and he had a 2nd gen up on his lift with tank out so I grabbed a tape and took the picture of the measurement
