    NATS

I've confirmed that I will be attending and working (pinstriping / airbrushing) at the NATS this year. It'll be my first Nationals and my second van rally. I'm really looking forward to it. Does everyone typically camp on site or? I've never used my van for camping because it's typically loaded full of work equipment. Anything else I should know about Nats? Fill me in!

Everyone usually camps on site. If you have a booth, you'll be able to keep as much of your stuff there as you want. Many vendors camp near their booth, but you're obviously welcome to camp with the club. There are food vendors on the grounds, so you don't have to pack a bunch of food if you don't want to. Amie and I usually stop just before we get there to load up the coolers and get other food for the week.

    Cool

Having missed ALL my van events last year.I am looking forward to the road trip to Indy.
If all the pieces fit in place I will be driving out in my 89 GMC.
The 1st nationals for this van.
In the past we have parked right next door to vendors ror (35th Nats in OHIO).
Former member,Leadfoot had a booth for the magazine he was printing.

Because my wife does not do well in the sun.We usually get a room at a local hotel.
She enjoys just having "alone time"

Prep for hot weather and or rain.
Bring stakes to tie you easy up down.
At the 40th we had a wind gust blow through and send easy ups over top of the vans parked in front of them.

At the 44th Nats in Illinois it rained the whole week prior to the Nats.
The normally dry fair grounds turned into a giant mud pit.
Vanners still find ways to have a good time no matter what Ma Nature throws at us...

    Looking forward to meeting you....

I'm going to do my best to have the 68 ready, I still need to fix the brakes, swap in the 4L80E, and get a radiator capable of keeping the 454 cool. If its not ready, I still have the 83 to fall back on.
