    Side Mirrors

New here. Looking for side mirrors for my 65 panel van. It originally had the west coast jr. mirrors with the four sheet metal screws on bottom instead of the three mounting bolts. I'm open for any suggestions. I'd prefer mounting something I don't have to drill more holes for. Condition is not a priority since my van has the original patina straight from the pasture I saved it from.

Another option is purchasing a set of the painted brackets from LMC for a 60-65 C10 and modifying them. Has anyone had success at doing this? I'm proficient with fabrication and have the tools/shop just unsure if it is worth the time.

The West Coast Jr mirrors may be easier to find. Originals came with a lower mounting plate that fit the triangulated three hole pattern on the door.

    Side Mirrors

Well about a 6 hour drive away at least in Texas...

FYI - The mirror lower, four sheet metal screw attachment configuration is an original GM delivery.

The mirror in the diagram does not appear to match the mirrors on your van. The mirror in the diagram only has two screws in the lower mounting bracket. Your van looks like it used to have the same kind of mirrors mine does.

These are the same too. The pic came from FB.

What's going on? A bunch of vans got their mirrors ripped off, and they all decided to replace them with the same ones?

    Side Mirrors

As I recall doing some research on it, the four sheet metal screws mount is original and the three screw is a service replacement GM part #987932 and aftermarket as Smiley has identified in the earlier post.

    FYI:
Prior to 1967, all exterior rearview mirrors were an option. Then starting in 1967, new Federal safety standard laws required at least a driver's-side rearview mirror on all vehicles.

Unfortunately when I resurrected my van from its pasture grave (it sat for over 35 years) it didn't have any mirrors or brackets. Only orginal pieces missing besides the spare tire, tool kit, and keys.

If anyone has a lead on any of the three styles, it would be greatly appreciated. I know Gary has been helping which I'm thankful for.

I'm thinking you have that reversed. Take a look at all the doors with the 4 sheet metal screw system. They all have the the 3 screw pattern from a prior set of mirrors. Then look at my mirrors. There is no 4 hole pattern of screws from a previous mount.
