Red face Stuck in San Diego

OK here is a laugh on me...
Working on the van changing some switches which attach on the lower part of the dash next to the steering wheel. I was all alone nobody to bother me... in fact nobody would be home for many hours.
I could not see the old screw holes where the holder had been previously. So I started edging in a little closer. I have added an air tunnel so it is cramped. I just still couldn't see the darn holes kept dropping the screw, got mad and decided I needed to see what I was doing under there! I edged in about even with the brake handle and slid down in the area just under the ash tray area. Then turned onto my back, great I can see now... hmmm I can't reach my tools... hmmm I cannot move? OMG I am stuck! As a woman I have a couple of items that made my sliding out by the steering column impossible! I had no hand holds to lift myself back up. Kinda like a turtle on its back, very sad really! It took about five minutes of contorting my body parts until I was free. LOL never did finish that screw!

Kudos on keeping a cool head! Panic could have made that situation turn from comedy to tragedy...

I use a mirror in those situations. At 73, even kneeling down is tough.

(anyone else who didn't know LedZepp was female)? I think its great

A mirror would have been better for sure! My arms are only 24" in length, I am a bit small in stature 5'0. So it can be hard to reach with a tool from afar.

    Thanks for the kind words!

Well then I do belong! I was also stuck under the van when I did the heat wrap around the manifold. Again my arms are short so half way threw the wrap, I had to keep getting under the van to pull and push the wrap back up... a couple times I somehow got in but was kinda stuck, just for a few seconds. But it makes you mad. LOL
