Po took out heater core and just ran by pass hose to pump. I installed the new core from rock auto and repainted the heater box

If I had a first gen.....I'd have one of those new cores sitting on the shelf. Grab one before they quit making em.

I'm going to try an experiment in my 2nd gen van, I'm putting together a 800 Watt heating element with a temperature control and going to install in place of heater core, will let everyone know how it works when finished.
