Body seems solid. I like the rear door no glass RPO, Protectoplate, and it looks mostly all original. I don't like the cup holders. They almost look like they were welded onto the dash. They're using the old "rope the window crank to the door handle trick" and the "wire that washer bottle in place approach". Things like that could mean more repairs of that type that are not visible.

Looks pretty solid, but those dumb peace symbols gotta go.

What's it like driving a van with no windows???

Itís cool because nobody knows what youíve got in there. The no window vans are the most desirable for full custom interiors

What precautionary measures would one take when driving a windowless earlie? Such as parallel parking, changing lanes, and blind spots etc?

Yeah, side mirrors. And get blind spot mirrors ASAP! My early has no windows, or rear doors for that matter... and after a few close calls on an offramp that leads to a blind merge situation I finally got some. Never happier!!! You can also get a license plate rear view camera for like 30 bucks on Amazon. (It was awesome for a month until the adhesive failed and I smashed the monitor closing my door)

Good mirrors and good blind spot mirrors are necessary.
Those factory "West Coast" mirrors should be fine.
Even when my Van had rear windows in the rear doors.I had them painted black.
I do run 3rd Gen tri pod style mirrors and blind spot mirrors on both sides.
I have been driving Vans with no extra windows from my very first Van..
    With no issues...

Been driving vans since I've been driving. Those west coast mirrors will let you see more, and safer, than looking over your shoulder.

Always back INTO the parking spot.. that way you do not back out into traffic or another car!

When changing lanes to the right, signal prior to the lane change, and then move over slowly, so if there is a car in your blind spot, he can politely honk at you!

Parallel parking is no problem, just use your mirrors like you are supposed to be doing

if there’s a way I’m definitely gonna go with this van. I’m trying to contact the seller so I can meet up with him/her. I’d like to see if the van is up to par before I commit to buying. The van is on eBay and the listing closes on Sun. The van is located probably 1/2 an hour from where I live. I tried getting in touch with the seller via eBay but no response yet. Any suggestions?

Seeing that the auction ended with no winning bid, contacting the seller through ebay is all you can do. He may or may not respond.

    Hey all,
since this thread posted the van has been relisted on eBay. The auction ends in an hour or so. I called the seller and he says it runs which is one of my concerns. It would be a big bonus if it does.is the condition of the body alone worth the $6500 heís asking for? Thanks. G10guy

I tried contacting the seller through eBay and our dialogue was as follows:

hi again is the van still available and can we meet in a public place?

    seller said:

no I cannot meet you because I dropped the insurance on the van but if you want to you can come look

when I contacted him by phone he asked why I would want to see the van in person.
should I worry. Should I go with this van?g10guy

The big questions are if heís telling the truth..... IF it runs and drives and IF it doesnít have rust, itís worth the $6500 to me. These condition vans have gone up and finding the cheap ones get snatched up quick, if they ever pop up. In my opinion, Iíd pay $6500 for a running, ĎRust freeí van.
