    So I bought a 2nd gen...

Hey gang, I picked up this "High Roller" '67 108" G10 couple days ago. This van belonged to a long time VCVC member. I've been doing some work to it already.

Its pretty cool. 350/th350, 1/2 ton, but with 12 bolt rear. Its lifted a bit on custom springs and 31" tires.

    Wink A 2nd Gen?

Really Joe? One time you told me that 2nd gens were only good to supply parts for 1st gens. Were you pulling my leg or did you have a change of heart? Maybe that move from the PNW down to LA has got you all shook up, like about 6.4 worth.

Come on in the water is fine.

My 69 G10 also had a 12 bolt rear from the factory.
Turning those big all terrain tires in tight spots might be a bit of a job.
Nice score keep us posted on the future progress.
Its a "van thing". A life style you have to live to understand!!!!

    108VanGuy...
They are a great source of parts for 1st gens!! This one has a strong 350 and the th350 transmission with all the goodies to swap into a 1st gen, and would make an outstanding donor vehicle for a 1st gen. But its too nice to cut up and is a pretty righteous van. The body is generally in good condition, and I've been fixing little things on it as I go. I've been thinking alot about a 4x4 conversion for this, which would be awesome. It already is lifted, and looks like it should be 4x4.

Pick up truck front & rear drive axles are close to an 1 1/2 narrower than a 2nd gen's axles..
Here in the rust belt. Later model puke ups rotted out in structural places. This made for inexpensive 4X4 conversion parts...
This radical 2nd gen out of NY had a 4X4 conversion done to it...

    Nice score!

I love my 108, but yeah, power steering would be nice. And a remote brake booster...

Nice van Joe. I always enjoyed the look of a 4x4 or lifted early. Add some linkage assist to help with those big tires.

How much did this van set you back, for those of us trying to keep up with the current van market?
