    Annoying squeak..

Noticed a 'squeak' the last couple of times ive been out. At first thought maybe the fan but now thinking maybe the UJ's or prop shaft bearing. Gona have to get it to the shop to get it up in the air but does anyone know what UJ's a '68 250 IL6 sportvan uses and what size bearing for the prop shaft, as cant seem to find it on my tech sheets. Thanks

Even over here. I have to take my U joints with me to the local parts store because what they usually have listed is not correct...
Its a "van thing". A life style you have to live to understand!!!!

I thought of that, I have an 'annoying squeak' in mine that increases over time but only present when she is in the van.

Funny,I have been driving my 89 Van around with no tunes.Just so I could actually hear how the new engine was running.
As far as a "squeak" in the passenger seat.Mine is a very good navigator.Who is really helpful with getting us to places we have never been before....

So after all that it was a binding brake shoe, a 2 inch shoe was in place in stead of a 1 and 3/4... Quick fix and back on the road giving it the beans. Also, the truck/rod shop owner loved the van and is gona help with the welding over the winter, happy dayz!

Because these vans where an engineering project there first four years.
It is not unusual to find wrong parts installed on these old girls.
Add in parts like rear ends being swapped out.
It some times tuns into an adventure to just do simple repairs.
good to hear you found your problem.
Even better is to hear we have another Member cruising around the UK in an Earl Chevy Van
