    Way cool 4 cyl

Way cool to see the 4 cyl because its so unusual. It put out a whopping 90 hp. I wonder what kind of mpg one could achieve with the 4 cyl?

As if an early doesn't already have enough storage space, lots of xtra in front of that 4. Have to wonder about the power-to-wind resistence ratio. One time with the old 230, me and the family were headed to gramma's house for Thanksgiving and it was blowing so hard we couldn't get up one of the hills on I-5 and had to turn around and go home.

    Nice to see though.

Well.....sorta, I'm a slow learner. The following summer we decided to quit tent camping (in the rain here in the PAcific NW) and buy a travel trailer. Bought a 19 foot Prowler, had a hitch custom built, hitched up and found out that the 230 and 3 on the tree would barely pull it out of the driveway. Then the DW says, you have my permission to do whatever is necessary to make the van capable of towing that trailer. Couldn't believe it, absolute permission, had to sit and think about that for a while. Hence, the 292, autometer gages, weber carb, headers, big radiator, TH350...

The 292 was an absolute blessing. Thanks to it, our family of 5 traveled all over the western USA over 3 summers as far east as South Dakota and to Disneyland twice and made some incredible memories and brought our family closer together

    That's what TurboVan came with!
Couldn't wait to get a V-8, pulled it out and threw it away (along with the bellypan) after one year.
Top speed was 85 in either 2nd or 3rd gears!
Keep one foot in the gutter, one fist in the gold...
