    Gas pedal?

Hi, ya'll! I'm looking for a complete gas pedal assembly. Mine is doing the rusted thing where the pedal moves but the linkage through the floor does not. I need the pedal and the linkage that goes through the floor. I have cable for all the rest. I just need to fix this! Thanks!

    Later! Redman.

    Gas Pedal Bracket?

    Hi REDMAN,
I don't have parts but maybe some useful info. I think you are refereing to the bracket assembly as your problem area; see top photo.

So you have the P/N now but that is not much help! If the bracket is your problem, I can share a repair I did after not finding a good bracket.
On mine the center support tube / hole was rusted (see RED in 2nd photo). I made a sleeve & brazed it in.

    1) I measured the length of the center "tube" (see RED in lower photo).
    2) I mesured how far the tube sticks out.
    3) Drilled out the the bracket center tube with a 1/2" drill.
    4) Got a 1/2" SS bolt (it was easier finding a bolt than rod stock)*
Add 1/8" length to the measurement of step 1) & cut the non-treaded section of the bolt.**
Drilled a 5/16" hole down the center of the cut bolt (a lathe is great for this step)
    5) Brazed in the drilled out bolt; located as measured in step 2 plus 1/16").**

    * As an alternate to the bolt you can buy a 1/2" O.D sleeve with a 1/4" hole & drill that out to 5/16" I. D.; then cut to length:

    Notes:
** 1/16" or the 1/8" is added to accomidate the eliminated bushings (item 1 in the 2nd photo).
Use grease in the new center hole when assembling the linkage back to gether.

Pulled from a low mile, zero rust 1966 van from the Nevada desert. Original plastic bushings are still there, in great shape. D shape in pedal is in great shape, not wallowed out. Complete assembly. Send PM for price and payment info. I prefer PayPal.
