    3-speed overdrives

I acquired these five transmissions but don't know the condition. I cleaned them up, they're all GM and one is missing a side cover. Another is locked up. But these are rare and I would like to offer them to a club member who can pick them up. They are too heavy to ship! I will sell one for $50 or all for $200. Thanks, George (gas) Frankfort, IN

    R10Q-1

The OD units shown are the correct R10Q-1 Borg Warner units that fit our vans. The critical piece to check is the solenoid. By applying 12 volts to the terminals on the round can, you should hear a click. If not, new solenoids are available but pricey (~$350). The rest of the OD can be checked only if taken apart. The front part (transmission section), is the early 4 bolt cover models found in our early VCVans. These are the non-synchro 1st gear units. The OD part can be married to a newer 7 bolt cover transmission found in the later VCVans. The 7 bolt cover model units are the ones equipped with synchro 1st gear.

Gas, can you check the solenoids? I have friends there locally that could pick them up.

I would like to sell one but at 90#, it would have to be crated. I prefer not to ship. Thanks anyway!

No problem, if you have a change in heart let me know. I'd be willing to give you more than you're asking for one and cover the shipping charges.

    Take a look at https://www.uship.com/

I've gotten some stuff shipped quite reasonably. Some guys do this with their pickup truck. Sometimes they just want to make enough to pay for the gas to get home.
