New to the VCVC.... need some help

Hi all, well I never dreamed i would own such a great vehicle. As a collector, I always wanted an early Scooby Doo tribute van and finally got the chance to own one!!

So here's my question, I have a 65 Sportvan Deluxe, I looked into rechroming the outside door handles but would rather find a good repo if they are out there. In my research, i found a couple of threads saying that a Covair van handle would fit a G10.

I found Clark's Corvair had part #C9525P which looks similar and appears to be the same size from the measurements. Has anyone tried and or used these on a G10?

Suggestions on finding side and rear door handles as well?

BTW, those handles do not look the same. The push button on ours is round and it also appears to have a different shape on the large flat end. The shaft looks different also. I've never tried one so I couldn't say for sure if they would work.

True. It's been reported that if you do a Scooby Doo theme the engine won't start half the time...

    Welcome to the club.

Thanks for all the info, it's much appreciated! As for Scooby Doo theme, it's near and dear to my heart. My daughter, who I lost to cancer 11 years ago, was a big Scooby Doo fan. In fact I nicknamed her Scooby Doo and she called me Scooby Dumb... lol

Now I will use this tribute van to help raise money for St. Jude and cancer research. Can't wait to get the final tweaks done and get Scooby out raising awareness.
