    Back into our 67👍

So it’s been way to long since I’ve had time to play with the 67, last year/ winter I helped my older Brother who loss his wife to cancer find a new Focus in life. Something to help put a smile back on his face! His chose a 65 as Impala, last winter we rebuilt the SBC added a 700r, disc breaker, FiTech, along with some other goodies! Success, he put 6,000 miles on her, power tour included and a lot of car shows. Could not be happier for him, now it’s time to get back at the body and paint project. I’m really happy with how solid she is. Decided to start on the roof and work my way down. The rear of the roof was pushed in abit so I tried MD-1 pry tool approach and it worked out great, next was the old seam caulk and a lot of finger sanding to clean them out! So far so good, I’ll go over the rest of the roof and hit it with some etching primer before filling the seams back in with some epoxy self leveling seam filler!Click image for larger version

    More bear metal.

Able to get a little more primer off the roof today, hoping to have the roof all down to metal this week, a few hours at a time👍 Be a lot easier if work didn’t get in the way LMAO!

Roof is looking good. I'm working on mechanics and haven't got to body yet, I wish I was doing body. Stick with your brother, I know how that is, I lost mine 12 yrs ago.

            Was up early today

I was able to sand the rest of the roof this morning with 80 grit, need to take a break and help Mom out with a project, then I hit the roof with 180 grit and start prepping for etching primer 👍Click image for larger version

              Nooks and crannies!

So they say the Devil is in the details, this weeks project has been the underside of the drip rail! Definitely a lot of knooks and corners lol!Click image for larger version

                    Break time is over!

So it’s good to get back out in the shop, the chicago crappy weather helps make it easy lol! After a quick clean up and getting my head wrapped around what’s next. I’m sanding from the roof line down to a couple of inches below the window line all the way around. Jams and window radius included so I can spray some more etching primer on. I’ll double back with seam filler in the drip rails and then spray some filler primer on.Click image for larger version

                        Just lucky

We were very fortunate to find such a clean van, especially on eBay without looking at it in person! You never know what’s under other people’s work till it’s down to metal!

Was able to sand 95% to a few inches below the windo this AM, after lunch I’ll double back on the small nooks and crannies! Looking good but there’s a handful of little dings to deal with and I’ll clean up the inside around the window in the same way.
