    I知 Sorry.

I知 on my way to CofC in Milwaukee this morning. As I landed in Nashville moments ago, I got a call from Amie. She痴 just gotten off the phone with Mary, Wookee痴 wife.

Our Wook suffered a heart attack last night and left us this morning. He痴 been part of the vanning community and our club since the beginning. He will always be part of our club.

I知 in a crowded airport and I知 trying to keep it together.

ID:	41304Very sad news. Wookee was a huge influence on many of us vanners/van owners. I was very happy to see him at the 2019 Nats and catch up a bit. It had been quite a long time. He will be missed!

This is a loss to all of us here. Wookee was the guy who shouda wrote the book on these vans.
He always had a kind word and a expert opinion regardless of the member.

This seems so unreal. I was sitting in class this morning and all of a sudden my mind drifted and I started to think about Wookee.....and then I had my class break and heard Mary痴 voice message. RIP, my friend. You were a formidable sparring partner.

Unhappy You Will Be Missed My Brother

I heard the sad news today. I was struck by the depth of loss I felt when the realization finally set in. Wookee was a good friend, to me and to many others. We spent much time talking about our shared love for these Vintage Chevy Vans. Over the years, I became more aware of his care for this shared passion of ours. On one occasion, this was more clearly demonstrated after he was involved in an accident in his 2nd gen. He feared not being able to drive it ever again. His family made the club aware of that possibility and the effect it was having upon him. The club responded. (Thank you all!) I understood then the depth of his affection and devotion for our shared enthusiasm. Clearly his family supported his devotion and zest for the Vintage Chevy Van craft. I will mourn his passing and celebrate the times we shared. I never met Wookee in person but yet feel the loss of a beloved brother. For those who have difficuly understanding such an affection for a soul never met, no explanation is possible, for those who do understand, no explanation is required. My condolences to his family in this time of loss. Rest In Peace Wookee and Van On.

I commented before but I had to say Thank you to Smiley.
You created a place where people who have never met feel the love and respect
of one another. We all share a common goal not only here but in life.
Be happy and cherish every moment. Worry wont get you anywhere but worried.

We all will miss Wookee. Those of us that met him in person and those of us who only
knew the kindness and guidance he gave liberally and unselfishly. Please rest in peace sir
knowing these ol' gals will continue to run down the road as result of your efforts.

All of you remember, no matter what anyone tells you...

    So sad

I happened to be looking through facebook earlier this evening and came across the news of Wookees passing. Needless to say I was shocked & truly sadden to hear of this. I was lucky to have met Wook on several occasions as he was always willing to help a fellow vanner. His contributions to this board, its members, and vanning in general will be sorely missed yet through the archives & knowledge shared will never be forgotten.

Smiley & Amie, please pass on my condolences to Mary, his family and friends.

Sad to hear this news. Wookie was the first VCVC'er I ever met in person, the first vanner I ever met in person, and the first person I met at my first Nats. I'll never forget going on a Saturday morning ride to the store with him in The Beast, hungover as hell from partying with him the night before at that Nats. He was a truly great guy and in every way embodied the spirit of vanning and this club. Rest In Peace.

So sad to hear this. Wookee was one of the first people on here that made me feel like I belonged. I had a nice chat wit him at the Nats last year and glad I did. You will be missed! RIP Wookee.
