    WTB 2 Series Axle Carrier

I'm looking for a 2 series open carrier and 2.54 or 2.73 ring and pinion set to go with it. A posi would be a bonus but they are tough to find. This is for the 10 bolt 8.2" as used on our vans. I don't think we can use the BOP (Buick, Olds, Pontiac) models. If you have one or have a lead on one, please PM me.
    Thanks!

    Thanks

    I gave up on GovLocks.

I'm liking the old style clutch type Posi-Traction if I end up goin with a limited slip rear axle. I don't really need it for the price they get for them. Thanks anyway Tom.

    My 2 cents on GovLocs

These differentials are known to come apart. I believe its the way they engage when they lose traction on one side. The driver does not immediately recognize the one wheel is slipping and typically will rev the engine some. This causes the spinning wheel to spin faster and then engage suddenly. That's when "Gov Loc Calamity" occurs. Maybe they've changed the rate of engagement and resolved the issue but I've seen plenty that were so bad you couldn't service the axle anymore. It was a real mess. I think the spring type posi units engage less suddenly. Under the sane conditions described above, they would just wear the clutch packs much more and not cause mechanical damage.

Thanks to the leads provided by Freaky, I was able to locate a couple of 2 series carriers and 2.73 gear sets. I'm still looking for a 2.54 gear set for either the 10 or 12 bolt VCV axle.
