    Bubba dog house

So it IS possible to widen a first Gen dog house by almost 1.5 inch each side with a jack and hammer and dolly. This is in preparation for the 350 and 700r4.

When I purchased my van, it had a 1st Gen doghouse over a V-8 350. The sides were cut out and they had fashioned particle board boxes! I bought a 2nd Gen dog house and cut the original out. Having said that, I don't think it would fit. Even in the 2nd gen Dog House it is not roomy with a V-8. Lots of people have better insight on this, I am sure. I just am speaking from my experience.

2nd gen dog houses are a tight fit for a V8. It was a factory option too.

I don't think that will work. I'd just cut the box and make some wider, removable side panels for Spark plug access.

When I stuffed an LS in my doghouse, I cut the sides off the 1st gen D/H and made custom side popouts and itís still a little tight. I also made a flange at the bottom and made the rear 3/4 of it fastened with bolts for semi-easy removal.

I have read through all the posts some say it would fit some say no. V8 will not fit not even with ram horn exhaust so the next option is bump outs and headders....sure hope it doesn't sound like a motorboat

Make sure you cut a door into the side to check the oil... kinda a tight fit for your hand to reach the dip stick. If it's in the rear driver side like mine.

our you can get a longer dipstick/tube. heat it up and bend it to fit your needs.

Forgot to mention. The intake came from the local junk yard and was green slimy and covered in crap. Turns out is a GM one year only 1970 camaro lt1 380hp 11:1 compression Winters intake...even had the 780 holley on it (holley is rotted). Price was right. Ran the numbers and there is one on ebay for 2K. Camaro guys will hate me

Don't forget to put some good heat insulation on the wiring harness. Exhaust heat will melt those wires. Especially with them being so close and in a confined space.
