Last week Mark delivered the GMC to my house, let the fun begin.
Missing a few parts, body is good with a few dents but not much rust. It has 2 seats in the back.

I took the door lock out of the back door and went to a locksmith who did keys for my other Van, he was able to make a key using the code on the lock. I got 2 keys for $18 brought them home and they work in all the other locks and ignition. WOOO HOOO......
(I tried to local locksmith's before going to El Cajon. They could not make a key, too old)

I bought a 350 V8 and have it installed, floor cut for the 2nd gen doghouse, today I made a fan shroud for it.
Still lots to do.

The 1st gen doghouse has a different shape at the rear beside being wider.
I cut the floor after marking around the 2nd gen box. The rear part needs some filler at the corners.
A couple of the ribs had to be cut to keep the area flat for the patch panel.
I have it all welded in now but didn't get a picture.

New engine is in and running, I saw a post by someone else who used the swivel arm off of the doghouse under the front to operate the throttle cable.
I was able to mount mine under the front, shortened a rod and added a Harley cable casing from the carb to the engine support frame with small bracket. Harley cable was too short so I used a VW replacement cable. Working well.
Now it's running, time to make it stop.
