I have a first gen with a 194 in it and a 3 speed manual. About finished rebuilding the 250six in my garage does anyone know if I can hook this up directly to the 3 speed transmission or would I need a new transmission for this swap ?

The 194 and the 250 engines are the same physical size. Only the bore and stroke are different.
Yeah I was just reading some things leading me to believe the bell housings might not be compatible so I just wanted to be sure before I bought all the clutch components to finish up my build
Will be a direct bolt-in. Same bell housing. Pretty much same everything so you can use most parts from your 194 on your fresh 250.
Thank you ! Back to dumping cash
Did exactly the same thing with my 66. Bolted togeter fine.
That’s a great thing about Chevy’s—all the transmissions fit all of the engines. For decades! I bolted up a 700R4 tranny from a Camaro from the 80s to my 250.
