Im new to the forum and to van life but not to old cars. I just acquired a 1969 Van 90 with a very tired 6cyl and 3 spd. I was going to clean it up and sell it but wife has developed an affection for it. I got a really good deal on a great running 305/350 combo I want to install in it. I ll search forum before asking questions. i tried uplaoding a phot but Im not incredibly tech savy.

Guess I'm a little late commenting on this thread, but Tom, you should thank your lucky stars that your wife took a liking to the van. Waaayyy back in 1988 I was likewise blessed. We wanted to start towing a travel trailer and RV instead of tenting, the original 230 in my 65 wouldn't tow our "73 Prowler, so she said do whatever you need to do to make the van able to tow the trailer. So I had complete permission to drop in a new 292 and built TH350, Autometer guages, HEI ignition, headers, etc. Towed over 90,000 miles all over the western USA. Still have the van and it will still tow, but since we are old and need AC, were towing with a 94 GMC Suburban with air. The van is stored next door so I can get it out once in a while.
