    67 steering gear pitman seal

    Hi all need advise 67 g10 pitman seal started leaking can the seal be changed from the outside like most seals how difficult is it to do i saw a part # from Napa 11055 is that the correct seal .Thanks in advance for any info.

    67 steering gear pitman seal

    I haven't changed the seal before so no advice on that.
    Just for your reference the GM P/N = 5670325 (1-7/16 OD x 1/4" thick) dimensions seem inline with the Napa details.

    Note: Because of common leakage from the steering box - the guys will recommend grease over a fluid - that may solve your issue.

    Thanks for the info i have seen posts about using corn grease instead of oil will have to see if i can find it

    I did my 68 G-20. Got the grease at a John Deer dealer
    There a bolt you take out to check fluid. I put 45 grease fitting on end of grease gen, and filled it that way
    (got pics but still no go)

    The only bolts i see are the 3 that hold the adjustment plate on is that where you add grease

    Don't take cover off that has the lash adjuster on it. The screw(of the 3 on cover) toward the front of van . is where you check fluid(its marked(probably covered in crud)) that where I filled mine.

    So after cleaning the adjuster area you can see markings showing what bolt is the fill and check hole so i put some corn head grease in and will see if it continues to leak Thanks for advise
