Some of our "screen names" are self-explanatory.
    TurboVan, ApplevalleyTim, Macsdoghouse...
    But some...

Mine is a combination of VAN(obviously)
    with my last name,Incitti-(in-city)
to make it the perfect choice for where I live.
    Where vanity thrives...

    How/where/whats up with your name??

First day of 9th grade sitting in the back of class goofing off and writing names backwards, the teacher called on me and asked my name. I said "Trebor", and from then on it just kinda stuck through High School.

Surfvan 1972 = I try to surf everyday, twice on good days. When I go surfing I drive my van. I graduated high school in 1972, when I had my first van.

gray ghost was the name my wife and I gave to my first van [1966 chevy] back in 1977 , it was gray primered and we use to dissapear with the van for periods of time, coming and going like a ghost, when I found this site after purchasing another early, it seemed like an appropriate handle ,Ghost

I used to work on the black top crew..every neighbourhood had a stray dog that would come around for a sniff and bite...we referred to these dogs as Barky. since then I found out that in the days of Men of War sailing ships, the sailors would use the endearment Barky for a favorite ship.....but mostly it refers to the Bark I hear from the 350 blasting throught the tunnels in the Fraser canyon..

I bought a 69 dodge van out of our impound yard that had set in the king county major crimes yard for several years. It was had a Travco family wagon conversion package with a fiberglass roof....it was pretty ugly. The painter at work said "look, it came with a bayliner boat on the roof"..refering to the ugly fiberglass top. "I said no way dude, it's a dodgeliner" The rest is history.

The dodgeliner was sold to a guy in Portland OR but the spirit remains. It was just another van saved from the crusher.

Well many years ago ie, 1975....when our club(Beaver Valley Vans, Ltd.) was having our club jacket patches designed. Everyone thought that "Old English" script would look nice? Everyone voted, and it was decided to use a local company that made the jackets for local high school sports teams and Lettermans' jackets. When the patches came in, much to the dismay of most, the lettering was not as readable as everyone thought? One member said, BeaverWalley.....instead of Beaver Valley??? lol I thought that it would be an appropriate "Screen Name" to use on the Vanning Forums! Voila, and now you know....the rest of the story!!! lol

the "planet" thing has been festering and hanging around with me for the better part of 30 years, and it continues to grow longer legs and and additional meanings.
it started out with my love for "marvin the martian" from warner bros cartoons. also, my dad used to read science fiction books, and as a kid, i became fascinated with the artwork on the covers of those sci-fi paperbacks.
in 1975, me and a couple of friends lost a few hours after experiencing a bright soundless flash of light while hanging out in a remote gravel pit up here in the woods. very strange for sure.
over the past 10 years we opened used car planet, inc. (which is our small used car business), planet wastewater services, inc.(we service the wastewater needs for a bunch of clients), and alien alley autobody, inc.( our collision and custom body shop).
with Vear being my last name, planetvear really refers to my little familys place on this island we call earth.

Mid 80's early 90's I taught Karate in Monument Colorado; part of a larger organization and group of schools out of Hawaii. My branch became known as the one on the rock between Colorado Springs and Denver. My students bought me sweatshirts and hats that said Rock on them and I got license plates that said Rock 1. I also am a rockhound and Lapidary nut and spend a lot of my spare time cutting and polishing rocks and minerals for jewelry etc... (apologies to Rockwest for any confusion caused). Walt

When I first got into Vanning CB's where a stardard component that every body had.
I joined a van club and all of the members CB handles stuck around as there nick names.
Back then as now I had a "baby face" No wiskers at all at 21, did not even shave.
One of the girls in the club kept calling me Baby Face.I did not want that to stick.
Star wars had just came out. While watching the movie Luke and Choowee where playing a 3-D board game. Luke made a move Choowee did not like and Hans said "be carefull Wookee's have been known to rip peoples arms off and beat them with it"......
I like the name Wookee used it as a CB handle and it stuck......
In the second movie the Wookee could weld and was the ship's mechanic....
    I do both....
There are people in the Van World who do not know my real name. They know who Wookee is.
Another bit of worthless trivia.I spelt my nick name wrong for close to 15 years Wookie. One Day I picked up a Star Wars Book and they spelt it Wookee.

    ........Wookee

I was just starting on the internet thing, when I found this Van site and had to pick an identity. I was listening to Innagottadavita by Iron Butterfly and I was inna gottavanna I guess, I had a lot of vans and still do. I used the same "handle" on all forums just cuz it's less confusing for me.

    Wookee,
Yes they are very well behaved now.But when they were pups, well thats a different story...The yellow dogs are actually mixed breed. They're mom was a black lab and dad was a blond golden retreiver. Unfortunatley as of now "princess" the one i have my arm around is at the animal hospital. She is very sick and the vets cant fiqure out whats wrong, she almost died this am.
    Keep her in your thoughts!!!

Aengus, the big male in back, ate an 18" long gym sock, the vet thought it was pancreatitis, a week in the hospital and $1800 later he craps it out, all better now.

I've used mayanees since 1992 when I started a part-time electrical engineering consulting business.
I worked full-time for the almighty Scott Paper Company in Dover, DE. When they were bought out by Kimberly Clark in ~2000 the Dover plant was sold to Procter and Gamble. P&G treated acquisition employees like shit, so I left and went on my own.
I am John Mayan. The businees was Mayan Electrical Engineering Services, hence mayanees.

when i was a less-well-behaved youth, i used to paint graffiti A LOT (caused a lot of beautiful "damage" in my day haha) and Optik was/is my "tag". i chose that because i also earned a visual arts degree in college. i've since moved away from the graffiti somewhat but kept Optik when i started dj-ing and i just use it for an online identity to keep everything easy to remember.

The first weekend I had my driver's license, I put a 1000 miles on my '56 Chevy and never left the city limits of our town of 24,000!!! My mother was upset at the cost of all the gas - - 0.17 /gallon. In her tirate she accused me of joyriding and having a "gasoline-ass" the joyridin' stuck - - thus my e-mail address and the plates on the Coupe

My wife tells me I'm stuck in the 60's. So I had to go with Rich Van Linkel, because it was so close to Rip Van Winkle. And the story kind of fits, if you use your imagination and a little twist.
