"Texas Paddy Wagon"

Gary Watson's "Texas Paddy Wagon"

From the information I've been able to gather so far, Gary's "Texas Paddy Wagon" experienced a very 'live fast, die fast' existance. Judging by the front and rear side marker lamps, it would appear that Watson's early Chevy was of at least 1968 vintage, and I've read that this van crashed in 1968. It returned to dragways for a few more years. The photo at left was taken in Hobbs, NM in 1971 by Tommy McNeeley, who once drove for Gary Watson. After the 1971 racing season, the original Paddy Wagon was retired. Its driveline was removed and used in Gary's new Paddy Wagon Vega.
