    Door latch problems

I have a 1969 Panel that have dislocated "up-down" rods. I have two of the lower rods that are bent and just move (rattle) in the doors and one upper rod that is out of the hole and no longer works. I am having a difficult time removing the clips that go to the actual latch mechanism. I'm sure someone has solved this problem. Can I get some instructions or pictures as I also cannot see them.
    Thanks,
    John

    CAREFUL!

Those clips are difficult to remove. You have to be careful not to pry too hard to get them to release.
They will come free but patience prevails...

IF you snap the little wing that holds them in...its over. Seems they were a "one-use" piece.

These clips are harder to find than hen teeth.
I found one in the bottom of a door, once...and there was much rejoicing.

    ....Smiley says pics are coming!!!

I think my hands are too big. Do you have tips on tools that can be used? I was tempted to get out my 2" hole saw.

        Long slim flat screwdriver.

Stick your phone in there and take some pics.
The clips are at the end of the rods.
There is a pointed end on the actuator and the clip holds the rod on it.
Put the blade of the screwdriver behind/between the clip and the actuator.
GENTLY twist and it should pop it off...
Hope to all that is good that it dont break that tab.

        GFL!
