Man, it hurts my eyes to look at that. It is confusing my brain. I feel like I am getting vertigo or something. The top of those doors don't even look like they are part of the pic, they kinda look like little sister's "colorforms" from the 70's.

    Cool Zelda

Eddie,I was a huge fan of Zelda from back in the 80's.
This van was insperational to me when I built "Early Times"
I was very excited to see this van again in person. It is still owened by her original owner/builder.
Both are now living in Florida.
She is holding up very well........

    Cool

    Savage,please don't get offended.
Your "cheap" camera still took a decent picture of pretty good progress.
The GOOD PROGRESS is what it is all about.......
Personally I took a bunch of pictures at this years Nationals with an expensive camera and was very disappointing how they turned out.

This is a very clean chop from the PNW.
Note the slider is still in place and working
That is the really cool thing about the Nationals.

Vanner, I'm assuming you uploaded this old photo to photobucket then posted it. I did that with some old pictures and tried to post them but they wouldn't post as contained too many pixels. And idea how to fix this?

    Cool

Eddie G,I hear you my friend.I did the reviews of the vans to go with the pictures that where in that years calendar. We did away with text on the calendar pages to save work for Carl.
Paying attention to details can be a curse.Writing a review of member vans means that ALL of the information posted has to Be correct along with well written.I guess you really need to do it once to really understand.

Malle, that small block might run better if you hook the vacuum lines in the front of the carb up correctly.
The large center port is for the PCV valve. The small port on the passenger side goes to the vacuum advance on the distributor.
The drivers side port is a constant pulling vacuum port.
It will not be starving for fuel.....

    Thanks Wookee,

the van is still the same as when i got it and i haven't ben able to do much with it yet, now it's back in the garage for winter storage with the 65'. i only started it once after i got it, the previous owner said that the engine was no good and used plenty of gas. for some reason they haven't used any shims on the starter, and they figured the engine was a goner, but ofcourse it's just not measured up, i've fixed that part and then came to the next problem, the return spring on the key ignition was gone, so it kept on going on the starter :O took a easyfix on that part for now with a kabel and a switch. i don't think i will be adle to do anything before winter is over though, it all depends on how cold it will be

I'd guess that's art and who's to argue that it isn't, therefore it's judged in the audience' eye. I have my reasons for disliking it, not for what it is, but for what it's doing on an early dashboard. You had to know this wouldn't go over well for everyone??

    Cool

Yes every one has different onions on how to customize these old girls.
Some like them stock, pure and simple.
    Some like discrete mods
Some like to take a totally different approach.

I did the custom dash thing in the 80's, wood for the basic shape and then a face of smoke tinted plexi over it. Everything backlit, so you didn't see gauges or controls until it was turned on.

25 summers and winters later, the plexi was cracked all over from heat/cold over the years. Yanked it out and replaced with stock.
