Smile Suitable engine wiring harness replacement needed for 1965 Sportvan Deluxe...

    Hello there,

I would like to know the best engine harness that I can purchase aftermarket and customize to fit my 1965 Sportvan Deluxe. The car has no rust (purchased a couple years back out of Blue River Oregon, 50 miles East of Eugene).

So I will count myself lucky. But the original harness has too many butt end connectors to count as reliable and the 55 year old copper is hard as rock. I know there were previous blogs made on this issue. I am not having any luck finding these.

Looking to find one with original connectors. 1965 - 230 Chevy truck?

If I wanted the whole caboodle including the interior harness (for gauge cluster, fuse panel etc. ) is there a different one or two of these to purchase?

Mark~ 108 Van Guy suggested a "Painless Brand" wiring harness with an enlarged fuse block.

Any ideas to share back or suggestions?

I hope you like the skeleton pictures. I found this guy discarded in my back alley. My son 10 year old son Brandon was thrilled. Goes with my "Dead Head" theme...L.O.L.

    Thanks!

    Sincerely,

    Ian

    Baked wiring

Did you purchase a harness, and solve your problem. My '65 has several baked strands of wire also & am looking for advice. Thanks, Vic

    Can you DIY?

There was a guy that would make one from yours.
    He used a "Painless" harness.
